About Attorney Terbrusch 

Richard P. Terbrusch is a Connecticut-based principal attorney at the Terbrusch Law Firm, LLC which practices matrimonial law, probate, and bankruptcy. He formerly worked for the Connecticut Judicial Branch, ending his seventeen-year career as an Attorney for the Chief Court Administrator, who is the Judge responsible for the daily operations of all State Courts in Connecticut. Prior to working for the Chief Court Administrator, Terbrusch was an eight-year veteran of the Connecticut Family Magistrate Court where he supervised the enforcement of child support orders. 


He graduated cum laude from Quinnipiac University School of Law. In law school, he was an Associate Editor of the Quinnipiac Law Review and received an award for distinguished academic achievement. He was also a graduate-level guest lecturer at Western Connecticut State University.

Community Service 

As an active member of his community in Ridgefield, Connecticut, he served as Chairman of the Ridgefield Connecticut Police Commission and as a former member of the Ridgefield Connecticut Board of Education.


Terbrusch’s publications include: Gathering Foreign Intelligence in Cyber Space: Does the United States Need Another Secret Court? (23 Quinnipiac L. Rev. 989 (2004)) and Accreditation and Civil Liability (CALEA Update, Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies, October, 2005).

Terbrusch has been a Trustee and the Treasurer of the Doris G. Quinn Foundation since 1999.


While not practicing law, Terbrusch is an avid equestrian and nationally ranked amateur polo player. Turning his hobby to good use, he often plays for charity, most notably Friends of Karen and the Allied Forces Foundation.
